Pedraza House: A Minimalist Living Space with Aluminum and Glass Doors

This house is located in western Madrid, with the living room extending toward the north to take advantage of views over the olive garden. At the same time, a small courtyard at the front of the house brings in southern sunlight, creating a more spacious and airy living environment.

A new project by Madrid-based studio AQSO focuses on maximizing natural light and creating open spaces, giving the house a minimalist yet elegant appearance.

Situated at the highest point of the residential area, the house enjoys unique panoramic views. The daily living areas are located on the ground floor, while the bedrooms are positioned on the upper floor.

The internal courtyard not only connects different spaces, creating a sense of transparency and brightness, but also functions as a temperature-regulating element, helping to warm the house during winter.

The house is designed across different levels to create a spacious living room with a 4-meter-high ceiling. The roof spans the entire space, while floor-to-ceiling glass windows create an airy feeling and strengthen the connection with the surrounding natural environment. The sliding doors feature slim, minimalist frames to expand the living space while also providing solar shading for the façade.

The kitchen is connected to the living room, internal courtyard, and porch, and can be opened on both sides to create an excellent entertainment area, complete with an outdoor barbecue space.

The façade is designed to maximize views, with windows positioned at the corners to capture the northwestern landscape. At the same time, this arrangement also helps maintain privacy from neighboring houses.

The exterior façade combines white walls with timber ceiling finishes and surrounding openings, creating a modern and sophisticated atmosphere. The interior materials have also been carefully selected to bring a minimalist yet warm and inviting ambiance to the home.
